How do i create a transparent texture in 3dsmax For example i want to make a leaf texture and put it on a plane. But i want the outside of the leaf to be transparent. How come transparency in textures appears as white in 3ds Max? looks fine, but when I have deployed the textures to my scene, the leaves look green plus white, where white is the transparency area. Ask Question 1 \$\begingroup\$ I am Then inside 3DS Max, go to your texture's mapping channels and insert the black and white image into "Opacity Map"—and voila! No more silly whiteness. P.S. The reason the black space shows up as white on your model, is because 3DS Max doesn't know how.
